L to R: Commissioner Marc Sarnoff, Tory Jacobs, Commissioner Joe Sanchez, Mayor Manny Diaz

Miami City Commissioners voted unanimously at their October 8, 2009 Commission meeting to honor long-time Brickell resident and activist T. Sinclair "Tory" Jacobs for his service to Brickell and the City of Miami.  Commissioners approved a resolution codesignating Southeast 25th Road from Brickell Avenue to Biscayne Bay as Tory Jacobs Boulevard.

Originally from Atlanta, Tory has been an active voice in Brickell for nearly 20 years, serving as President of the Brickell Homeowners Association from 1990 through 2008 when he stepped down, only to be recalled to service a few short months later.  Tory has also served on the Brickell Area Association Board for many years and continues in that position today.

Tory has been an active advocate for the Brickell residential areas and has been the driving force behind many initiatives such as the Brickell Streetscape Plan,  Brickell Candidates Forums, graffiti removal from City properties, the outlawing of noisy jet ski launches on the North side of the Rickenbacker Causeway and the revevelopment of the blighted areas that are now Mary Brickell Village.

The Brickell Area Association is proud to salute Mr. Jacobs on all his accomplishments for the Brickell area and offers a resounding Thank You! for all his hard work on behalf of the businesses and residents who have benefited from his many years of hard work.
